Pretty Good, But Watch Out For Your HeelsMay 30, 2009
By S. W. Jean we purchased this seat a couple months ago for our daughter that was born in jan. 08. i installed it on a raleigh sc30. she absolutely loves to ride however, on my first run i noticed my heels interfered with the foot wells on the seat so i have to pedal with with my heels angled out and keep in mind i'm not a big guy i wear a size 9 sneaker. i accidentally dumped the bike tonight (with my daughter in it) at about 5 miles an hour into some grass and she was completely protected, also keep in mind she's a smaller baby though, she is 16 mo. and weights 17.5 lbs. best of luck on whatever you purchase

a bike seat for great adventuresJul 03, 2008

I've had this seat for 6 years or so and have been on many adventures with it. My only complaint was that the thin piece that keeps the child's legs from possibly getting caught in the spokes (something that happened to me as a child!) broke after a couple of years, and I've had to patch it in all sorts of ugly ways. When my daughter got near the end of the weight limit, which is 40 pounds, I started hitting her feet when I was peddling, I think because her legs were a bit long for the seat and were dangling out.

does the jobApr 09, 2007
By Georgia Mom This carrier does what it designed to do but it could use some improvement. First, it was no easy feat to assemble and I am pretty handy and follow diections well. Secondly, once the child is in, the belt assembly has to be slipped through slits to the back where a hook and loop fastener holds them together. I don't see where that is really very safe. In addition, the plastic guard under the seat has scrathced the back of my ankle several times and I have started riding with my foot more forward on the pedal than I normally would. Still, it does the job of carrying my 2 years on my bike, and he enjoys it.

Great fun!Jun 16, 2011
By lunartoaster I love this seat, and so does my daughter! She's 13 months, about 22lbs. We've taken a few rides in it, and it's wonderful so far. In fact, she's so comfortable that she generally falls asleep! We forgot there was a helmet included and bought another one that we actually like better, but the helmet included is fine, too. Great choice!

Ok and somewhat inexpensive, not the best for your money...Jul 14, 2011
By Joe Allen My wife and I just purchased this seat along with another from Nashbar for our two children. We had an Amazon certificate and a certificate to Nashbar which is why we bought the two different seats. Both seats were very comparable on cost, but there is a significant difference in quality between the two. Here's a link to the other seat we purchased:
[...]
If the link doesn't work correctly, just go to nashbar.com and search for "child seat" and take a look at the $60 seat. The seat from Nashbar is much sturdier, has a lap bar and straps for your child's feet. This seat by Bell has a very flimsy guard that covers your rear brakes/wheel to prevent your child's feet from getting caught. I managed to get this guard secured, but I would be very surprised if the flimsy guard lasts even one cycling season. The other significant difference is that the Nashbar seat comes largely preassembled and took only about 15-20 minutes to install. I have a construction/repair background but this seat still took me 45 minutes to an hour to install. The only pro to this seat is the included helmet which may save you a few $ but is definitely for a larger toddler helmet and was too large for our 16 month old. All told, you will spend about $10 - $15 more and have to buy a helmet, but the Nashbar seat is a FAR better seat for your money. One of our two children will be too large for a rear seat after this cycling season and the Bell seat is definitely the seat we will be getting rid of.
