Comfort-Grip TextureMay 08, 2008

Bell's medicine ball is useful for exercising with or without a fitness DVD. The weight seems perfect for intermediate users. The ball has a comfort-grip texture which makes it easy to hold on to. You can use this medicine ball for strength, cardio and endurance training. It has a strong outer shell with what feels like a sand interior.
The exercise manual is not extensive nor will it give you enough exercises for a full-body workout. For exercises you may want to buy a book like The Great Medicine Ball Handbook: The Quick Reference Guide to Medicine Ball Exercises.
The exercises in the manual include:
Upright Twist Overhead Turn and Bend Overhead Side Bender Bent over Twist Squat and Reach Overhead Toss and Catch Underhand Toss and Catch Rear Lunge Press Diagonal Lunge and Push Seated Twist
The rest of the exercises require you to be working out with a partner. My husband wanted to throw this ball back and forth between us but I found it is too heavy for such an activity.

Med Ball ReviewSep 02, 2008
By Fitness Counts Good news is the ball weighs 6lbs. The only thing that disappointed me was that the ball is filled with sand or some other material. Why is this a problem? When throwing and catching the ball, the ball moves in a lopsided manner based on where the sand is sitting inside the ball. This can throw you off balance a bit when working out. Other than that, the ball is good.
