best everJul 08, 2007
By Donna G. Eynon This is unquestionably the best helmet I have ever owned. It is comfortable, cool , and the fit can be made perfect. I have a very small head, and I appreciate the offering of a size S. The adjustment in the rear makes it so easy to get the perfect fit.

A helmet with ventilation!Sep 30, 2008
By J. LaCoss
"Rt. Rev. Maker-of-sawdust"
I ALWAYS overheated with 70s-vintage helmets (up to that last time I got hit by a car) and was reluctant to wear a brain bucket as they really killed my enjoyment of riding.
I don't fantasize about the Tour de France any more, but I DO take notice of the helmets they wear.
Biking to work meant getting back on the bike after a 30-year hiatus. I decided that the "extra" bucks to protect the ol' maraca was a worthy investment, so I checked the range of helmets available without price as an object. I selected the Bell Sweep R as a compromise between cost - it's easy to spend a LOT more - and ventilation performance, and have been most happy.
It fits my head well (I'm a big boy, and I wear a BIG hat) and the ventilation works extremely well. That up-turned back end (a DA in 50s-speak) is key to creating vacuum to pull air through the hat, and it works great.
One complaint - I REALLY wish the straps were about 2" longer. I'm almost at the end of it, and it still pinches a bit when I turn to see what's creeping up on me.

Great BuyJul 06, 2009
By Bryan Knight This is a great helmet. I owned an old (6+ years old) Bell, and I have always been a Bell fan. This helmet is extremely light, has an amazing fit, and very easily adjusts to get a great fit on my head.
I love the style of the Sweep R as well.

Great Road Bike HelmetOct 21, 2007
By P. Morales A great helmet that is on par with more expensive gear, such as, Giro Atmos. In-mold construction is lightweight yet durable for protection. Cam-lock levers maintains a secure fit while providing comfort. Nice styling with 20 vents for efficient cooling.

Can't go wrongDec 16, 2008
By trentula77 I love this helmet. I use it on road rides and mtn rides. Great ventalation keeps my cool during long hot rides. The helmet fits great and I dont even notice its there. Its a very tough helmet.....it has taken a beating a few times during some hard crashes on the mtn bike and absorbed the shock from the blow to my head and examining my helmet I couldnt even tell anything happened other than a minor scratch of the paint. I love this helmet so much I bought it in a different color.
