A Great, Cool HelmetJul 19, 2010
By W. Littlejohn
"WWL"
The Bell Sweep is easily the best helmet I've owned.
This is my third Bell helmet in the last decade(like others state you either have a Bell head or a Giro head). The Bell Alchera fit well but was really hot while the Bell Ghisallo fit perfectly but was just too hot when the temp got over 85. I even began to skip wearing a helmet on hot humid rides which drove my wife nuts. So I did a bit of research and decided to pay a bit more for the Sweep.
What a difference. You can actually feel the ventilation. I know this costs more but it is worth it. Not even close. I'm not much of a reviewer but this product has allowed me to enjoy riding again in hot, humid weather. As for pricing, remember all the Sweep variations are really the same helmet. The XC version includes a visor (which I don't use) but is exactly the same as the "R" so find the cheapest Sweep you can get (in your preferred color of course) and go for it.

Couldn't be betterJul 05, 2011
By Christopher This is my fourth Bell helmet and I couldn't be happier. This one replaced another Sweep that I cracked in a pretty severe crash, and left my noggin unscathed. Better to crack the helmet than the head.
I find that Bell helmets fit my XL head the best and provide plenty of cooling thru the vents. Highly recommend this product, especially if you have an XL hat size.

Lightweight and great for hot weatherJun 18, 2011
By M. Owen I purchased this on Amazon due to the great reviews and good price. I like how lightweight it is. There are plenty of vents so it keeps your head cool while riding. I like the look and color of this helmet. I have the Matte Black/Carbon color. The visor is nice because it can tilt up or down slightly to adjust the angle if needed.

Great HelmetJun 14, 2011
By Loren Smith Got this helmet mainly becase there are very few helmets out there that look goof and are affordable. I wanted to get a Giro but I cant see myself spending $150-$200 on a helmet. This was very afordable and looks great. My last helment was about 10 years old so it was time to get something newer with the amount or riding I was doing. This also keep my head quite a bit cooler on the long rider or steep climbs.
nice fit but .....Nov 07, 2011
By michaelc I had never owned a bell bicycle helmet before this so wasnt sure what to expect, turns out the helmet itself fit my head very well, the problem is the straps and strap buckles, seems like they did not put any effort into refining-engineering the staps along with the buckle and chin strap so ultimately the side buckle twists and hurts, and I really spent alot of time trying different adjustments. My other helmets made by Cratoni and Specialized do not have this problem. might just be something I'm more personally sensitive to, otherwise its a very nice helmet but I will unfortunately have to send back.
