Cushy, non-skid matAug 10, 2010 Mat provides excellent cushioning, but I found that I can't slide on it easily to turn over. For me, that's a problem, though it may not be for most people.
good firm sleeping matJul 04, 2010 I have been sleeping on this mat for several years and I love it. It is very firm but I like it that way. When I visit people I bring it along and lay it on the floor for sleeping. When I first got it the plastic mat cover had a plastic odor for awhile but that went away after a few weeks. In hot weather I wrap a sheet around the mat so it doesn't stick to me and I can roll over easier.
Good quality mat. I recommend it.Jan 15, 2010 It's hard to give 5 stars to something as basic as a mat: such a utilitarian piece of gear is more of a SUCCESS/FAIL proposition than a 1-5 rating-getter.
That said, I like this mat. I workout on a concrete basement floor and this mat gives me as much padding for doing stretches and sit-ups as any of the mats in any gym I have ever belonged to. And, indeed, better than some. And, since it's in my home, I get the added benefit of knowing that I'm the only person who has ever sweated on it. :-)
I'd recommend this without reservation.
Great Size and Very ComfortableJun 30, 2009 I almost bought the one that had a thicker mat, but was smaller (tri-fold). This is the right size to do crunches, stretching and other floor exercises. Firm, supportive, but still comfortable. Appears to be very well made. (NOTE: I'm 5' 4" - not sure how it would be for some over, say, 5' 8".) Highly recommended to do floor exercises.

Good Construction - Probably Slightly ToxicMay 08, 2009 The mat isn't, as the photo appears to me, some kind of slick fabric. It's like a vinyl. When the mat arrived, it even was slightly sticky, not slick, and it was odorous, and it took some weeks for the odor to clear.
Functionally, the mat is really good (and great at the price I myself paid, $39.95 with free Super Saver shipping). It's not dense enough to cushion beyond moderate impact -- I wouldn't even, if standing, try dropping straight onto my knees on it -- but it's dense enough to cushion one's body already near or on it, which latter I bought the mat for in the first place, and in that capacity its slight softness is a virtue. The mat also comes in very handy for the friend who happens to sleep over on the floor.
The mat tends to attract dust, but, yes, it is easy to wipe clean.
