Knocking out situps nowMar 05, 2010
I'm a heavy guy (6ft 285lbs) and the device is clamped on to a hollow core door, and I have it moved slightly off center, towards the hinge side.
I use this item 3 to 4 times a week, doing multiple sets of sit-ups. I have had no issues with the device itself, or it damaging the door in any way.
Good piece of equipment that serves its purpose.
Just what I was looking forJan 07, 2010 This did exactly what I needed it to do...I needed my legs held as I did sit-ups and it does exactly that. It equates to having a buddy sit on your feet. The only thing is that your feet have to be on an up angle to get the right leverage but not an issue.
Holds on to the door perfectly and folds up great so not to be in the way.
GETS THE JOB DONENov 16, 2009 THIS PRODUCT IS SURPRISINGLY STURDY AND EASY TO PUT INTO ACTION. HOLDS MY FEET A LITTLE HIGH FOR MY LIKING, AS I'D PREFER A GRIP CLOSER TO THE ANKLE, BUT WORKS JUST THE SAME. A FEW DOLLARS CHEAPER WOULD HAVE MADE THIS A FIVE STAR FOR THE MONEY.
Simple but just the right toolOct 25, 2009 Fits nicely to the door, and makes it easy to do a quick set of sit-ups in your room. In my opinion, easy-of-use is the biggest must for any indoor fitness equipment.. my 5-stars for this little equipment for that reason alone.
Works with Doors and Bed FootboardsSep 01, 2009 Assembly
Very easy to assemble. Very easy to mount.
I tried mounting this to two different locations: to the footboard of my bed and to the bottom of my bedroom door.
1) I was able to mount it to the footboard of my bed. My footboard sits on two legs, one on each side. I was able to mount it there and the hinge swings down to lower the foot bar low enough--5'o clock position where fully folding position is 12 0'clock--for me to rest my ankles on the floor and tuck my toes underneath the bar. I have a bed from Ethan Allen, and the footboard is about a foot from the floor.
2) Putting it on the bottom of the bedroom door, I scooted it to be fairly close to the hinge side of the door. When I swing the door open, the foam on the bar touches frame of the door and was able to work as a door cushion/stop, thereby not damaging the door frame.
Very happy with the purchase and I would highly recommend it. I can't comment on the effectiveness of the product yet. That will depend a lot on my discipline...
