5Very Durable Stability Ball ...Jan 11, 2007
By mom2boyz
I purchased 2 GoFit Ultimate Burst Resistant Core Stability Balls w/DVD (orange 55cm and purple 65cm)over a year ago from Amazon (on sale). The ball is a very durable, good quality ball (no foul smells or sticky surfaces like some other stability balls). I haven't had any problems with the ball in over a year of constant use. I have had to occasionally add air to keep the ball at the appropriate size (but nothing out of the ordinary).

This package comes with the ball, pump and workout DVD. I didn't even attempt to use the cheap manual pump included, but opted to use my husband's automatic pump, which quickly and easily inflated the ball to the desired size without any effort. The workout DVD is that in name only. It has some good exercise ideas, but if you are looking for a stability ball workout, you will probably want to buy a separate "true" stability ball workout DVD. [...]

As a side note ...

When determining what size stability ball to purchase, leg length (not height) is what ultimately dictates the size ball you need. If you know you have shorter or longer legs for your height, then you may need to get a smaller or larger ball than the standard height charts for stability balls.

For those of you who are unsure of how much to inflate your stability ball, here are some helpful guidelines taken from the fitnesource site ... On a wall, measure 55cm, 65cm or 75cm (depending on the ball size you have) from the floor and mark it with a pencil. Then inflate the ball until it feels/looks "full", but is not hard and still has a little bit of give in it when you press on it. Put the ball close to the mark you made on the wall and then place a ruler on top of the ball so that it touches the top of the ball and the mark on the wall. This will tell you how close you are to the maximum inflation for your ball size. If this is the first time you are inflating the ball, while it might seem full, it might still measure small. If this happens, give the ball a day to "stretch out" and then add some additional air, if needed. If you don't want to do all that, they also sell tape measures specifically for measuring the diameter of stability balls. Just keep in mind, that when you sit on the ball with your feet flat on the ground and knees bent, your knees should be level with or slightly lower than your hips (a 90 degree angle).

5A comfortable sitting ballNov 01, 2006
By Alexander Komarov
I got this to replace my desk chair, as I wanted something that would force me to stay upgright and not slouch.
Sitting on the ball is fun, comfortable and almost forces you to bounce continuously, much to everyone's amusement.
My back does not feel tired after sitting on it all day. I even started to balance on it while typing, keeping my feet in the air. The 75cm height seems ideal for a standard desk height sitting position for a wide range of body types: both 5'10" and 5'2" work best on the 75.

The foot pump that the ball comes with is not adequate for regular inflation/deflation, but it will do if you're only doing it occasionally. It takes 10-20 minutes of obnoxious squaking to get the ball inflated with the little thing. If you have a "Double Quick" type pump or any high-volume inflater, the fittings appear standard and it should work fine.

The ball comes with two plugs (one spare) for the inflation hole, and I have not tried to remove the plug once inflated, but it may be difficult.

Overall, the ball does exactly what I need it to, so I have no complaints.

Also, my cats (2) seem to stay away from it, so my concerns about them puncturing the ball seem unfounded.

1DangerousJan 27, 2005
By William S. Davis
I've had two GoFit yoga balls in a row and both have exploded after moderate use. The first time, the bottom ruptured on a seam but the ball deflated slowly so I had time to prevent a fall. The second time, I was just sitting on the ball in lotus position when the entire ball came apart under me and caused a painful fall.

For the record, I'm 5'11" and 195 pounds.

This is a nice ball and quite large but I have to re-inflate it every few days.

5the big green ball is greatJan 07, 2009
By Lew Wurdeman "Lew, the Geek"
I have only used one of these once before and didn't know what to expect based on all the other comments. I am 6'2" and obese so I ordered the 75cm model. When I first blew it up with the foot pump (that I used with my thumbs) it seemed smaller than I wanted and I was a bit dissapointed. Then I read what someone said about measuring the actual blown up height, and if it wasn't 75cm, blow it up some more which I did. Now the ball is a full 75cm and works great. There was a very minor new vinyl smell that wasn't offensive at all. If others hadn't mentioned the smell/odor, I wouldn't have even thought about it. I am guessing the complainers also complain about the new car smell too that others buy and spray in their cars :)

Like others mentioned, I wanted to use it part time as my office chair but the 75 is too tall for that. I will probably buy a 65 for my office chair and use the 75 for the stretching exercises and other things I bought the ball for. I have yet to try the DVD so I can't comment on it. There was also a foldout exercise sheet that I haven't used yet either as I had already been given workout info from the therapist.
