One of the very few useful golf swing aidsMay 14, 2012
By Wray Mould A swing fan is a golf swing strength trainer, pure and simple. And that's the beauty of it. Forget any claims of better swing path, improved extension, quicker release, or any other technical help for your swing. They're bogus. Hitting farther depends on swing technique and strength. A swing fan helps take care of the latter. Weight training is also important, but if you can't manage that, a swing fan is a bare minimum. The idea is based on air resistance or drag, which increases as the square of the velocity. What does that mean? It means that the faster you swing, the harder it is to swing it, so you never outgrow it. It is also low-impact compared with swing weights and weighted clubs, which bother my back at the bottom of the swing.
My swing fan is a different brand than this model, so I can't comment specifically on its quality. The idea is the same, though. Swing this baby 50 times a day for a month, and you will hit the ball farther.
Poor packaging resulted in missing partsFeb 28, 2012
By Pat Saxon The item arrived and I could hear the screws and nuts rattling around. The small plastic bag for these parts has broken. It is a very thin polybag with a ziplock seal, the plastic broke just below the seal. They should use a thicker bag for the parts (I know for a fact these bags come in several thickness I use them at my work). So I am missing 3 of 8 of the regular nuts. The rest of the packaging was the original box from the manufacturer and it was crushed on one side and then the Amazon box. Neither of these boxes had the missing nuts, but there are plenty of holes at the box seams where these nuts could have escaped. So I am disappointed, I will have to run out and find some nuts before I can assemble.
Surprisingly EffectiveFeb 21, 2012
By v. flaherty If you have a habit of hitting at the ball (as opposed to swinging through and fully finishing the swing) this will help cure you of this impulse. After using for a month found myself a full club longer with my irons (can't assess the driver yet as only been at the range and can't accurately measure).
Low cost/effective tool.
