5Great way to build muscle in lower bodyNov 10, 2010
By Susanna Hutcheson "Copywriting for the Discriminating - - (...)"
I've used rubber resistance for years and love it. But there are a few things to be aware of when using the xercuff. If you have arthritis in your hip or are prone to hip discomfort, you are better off with a lighter resistance. The red is good for building muscle. But many women want to tone up, not beef up. Also, you certainly do not want to hurt yourself.

There are many exercises you can do with the xercuff. And strong quads and hams will give you good, pain-free knees if you work out right.

Spri is a dependable, well made product and the xercuff is a good addition to your training routine. But keep in mind that the red is medium resistance. It's for fit people. Moreover, it will build muscle and not have as much stretch as the green and the yellow cuffs. So, before you buy it, consider your needs and your current fitness level. With certain leg exercises you can hurt your knees and, as I said earlier, your hips. So you may want to start with a lesser resistance for your lower body even if you use a fairly fit level for your upper body.

Speaking to women here: most women don't want to add to the lower body. So use a lower weight for the lower body and heavier weight for the upper body where you want to increase muscle and form.

5Workout Saver!Feb 09, 2011
By MsSmith
I have been working out all of my adult life. Recently I was diagnosed as having arthritis in both knees and can no longer do squats, leg curls, or any other exercise that puts pressure on my knees. I was watching a football training event on television and noticed the athlete wearing these to train his quads. I immidately ordered them. I absolutely LOVE them. I tried them out and got a good burn in my quads. The next day, I had no knee pain!

5nice little home gym additionJul 16, 2010
By Joan Bennett
Nice addition for my home workouts. I have the figure eight bands but they can be uncomfortable. These are comfortable and easy to use. The resistance is perfect for my hamstring and thigh routines. I would recommend these for a female beginner or intermediate workout. I'll probably order the red medium resistance xercuff's in the future. Two thumbs up!

This is a great way to exercise lateral and rearward leg motions. The illustrated pamphlet provides clear instructions. I use the entire pamphlet as an element of my routine.

5works great for IT band problemsDec 08, 2010
By Al
One of the main reason runners get IT band pain is weak stabilizer muscles. This band allows a quick and comfortable way to strengthen some key stabilizer muscles.
