best fitness ball around!!!Jul 04, 2007

i have been using my spri stability ball for 6 years. it is so much better than any i have used in health clubs- much sturdier, does not lose inflation...its versatilty is phenominal. it serves as a bench for free weights, is superb for ab work, and is a comfortable and ergonomically correcct chair at my desk. over the years it has been deflated and re-inflated dozens of times easily with the [included] pump. several times i misplaced the plug, and the spri company cheerfully and quickly sent me [free] replacements.. a definite 5 star product!.

Great Quality but......Apr 05, 2007

I purchased a ball for $10 from Wal Mart and didn't feel it had any stability and was very flimsy. The gym I use trains with the Spri brand so I thought this would be similar if not the exact ball. The quality was great, but unfortunately this is not the size I am used to hence the 3 star rating.
I am 5'5' and the recommended size is 55, but the 55 in my gym and the 55 I am looking at are 2 different sizes. I am sending this one back and ordering a 65 instead. I am not sure if they have a different product line that they use for professionals, but I am very disappointed.
This ball inflates to roughly double the size of a beach ball, and when seated you aren't high enough off the ground to do many of the moves effectively. Forget doing bridges, you might as well do them on the ground for all the height you get.

SPRI exercise ballOct 09, 2008
By J. Adams Same excercise ball as the ones I use at the gym and in my fitness classes. I've tried other ones that were flimsy and wobbly, but this one is the best.

Best HD exercise ball for your moneyJun 15, 2011
By R. Nakahata Most quality exercise (stability) balls usually range in price from $15 for basic entry level balls, up to $50 for heavier duty gym quality balls. These SPRI Pro-Plus Xercise balls are a great balance between cost and quality. I personally like these over Everlast, TKO, GoFit, Valeo, Reebok, and even some Gaiam (SPRI's ownership main company) balls. These are much thicker than many other brands on the market, yet retail for about $25 or less. Ball is listed strong enough to hold up to 500lbs static weight, or 350lbs of dynamic use. Kit also includes a hand pump to keep your ball inflated at the right level.
Great for incorporating core workouts with traditional exercises. Also allows you to increase the intensity of workouts and improves balance. I have used mine for stretching, core exercises, squats and lunges, and push up variations. It also can make a difficult base "bench" for presses with barbells or dumbbells.

Tough, Truly Gym QualityFeb 27, 2011
By Gimpy Bought one from eBay and regret not having paid a few dollars more and gotten one from here on Amazon. Mine came with an adapter to be used with your own pump, no dvd or exercise sheet, no warranty, and had molding flaws. Beware buying anyplace other than here. If you do, don't assume that 'new' means first quality or a complete consumer boxed item.
These are used at my gym and take a pounding. Very impressive! It's great having one in my home because it's become a component of my stretching routine. The height recommendations should only be taken as a suggestion. Depending on what/how your using it, a larger size might serve better. The 55mm ball stands just above my knee cap, and is ideal for how I use it. My height is 5' 7", but the larger ball would definitely be better suited for a different routine. If in doubt, get the larger.
Four stars only because of how it inflates. A rubber plug such as sports balls have; one that would accept the common needle style adapter, would be more practical from a users stand point. Not that they need re-inflating often, but the tapered plug is a bit awkward to remove. That said, this is a great product.
