This piggy bank seems to be made from good ceramic material, however if you look closely once you get your ball.... the black pentagon shapes are all different sizes. It kind of looks like my kid went and painted it himself and then it was glazed and fired at a local crafts store. I would have returned however I didn't want to pay the shipping. At a quick glance it seems fine, but after looking at it a while you will notic how off the pentagons are.

My 5-year-old grandson loves soccer and has recently shown an interest in saving $$$. I purchased one for him, and a second for a 7-year-old grandson. This cannot be played with as a toy. Money can be easily inserted, but stopper on the bottom is difficult to remove and replace. An adult has to help. The boys know they must handle with care. This is a bank that will easily adorn any boys room as they grow older.

This is really a neat gift to give to a kid who loves soccer. I just did that, putting one hundred one dollar coins in it.
