I ordered this for my 8 year old--he is average size. It fits him well,but if your child as a bigger than average head you need to order the adult size.

This is used by my 8 year old son and it is a good fit but not a great one. I suppose with so many different head shapes, finding perfect is trial and error.
My 4* may be your 5* if the fit works out for you so I would recommend giving it a go.
No problem with cuts or tears or holes; very sturdy.

I brought this for my kids, one is 8 years old, one is 6 years old. It doesn't fit both of them. This cap is too tight, and very difficult to put on their head. I returned it after all.

we used this for a halloween costume for my 5 year old. we were worried about sizing because he is 95 percentile in height and weight and has a big nog to match. The cap was a little big for him but since it was for a costume, it worked fine. the silicone was great because we did cut it and it hardly tore at all even with our uneven cuts. Also it did not pull his hair like he was worried about.

Good product, just wish they were more descriptive with the sizing. It is durable. Works well. I used it for a superhero costume!
