 Roller for Pilates and StretchingMay 09, 2007

Roller has help up well and is a good length for doing both stretch massage on the roller and using the roller for doing Pilates. The roller is firm so does not provide as much "give" as some of the cheaper foam rollers for stretching but I do not mind the firmer massage.

I was surprised to see that the roller had a texture of small dots. I've only seen these rollers with a smooth surface. However, the firmness of the roller was just what I expected and hoped for. I will simply make sure I have on a t-shirt when I use it (the texture can be uncomfortable against bare skin).

Durable, firm, pleasing texture...everything you want in a foam roller! I will add that I'm on the shorter side (5'3") and I imagine that if I were six or eight inches taller, I might not find it as suitable a length for lying on...

I bought this to use for loosening my IT band on my hip. I have trouble with it for that. It hurts a lot. I may not be using right or just need to bite the bullet and use it more.
My partner uses it to lay on and massage her shoulder muscles though and loves it. It has helped her posture.

The material is very firm and gives a good support. Nice texture and the surface has small dots which makes it non-slippery when doing Pilates. It's a good length for me (I'm 5'6"). However, my boyfriend is 6'1" and he finds this roller a bit short when lying for stretching.
