Best rope I've owned - serious workoutFeb 17, 2009
By MusicFan2012 This rope is for people wanting serious rope training. I am purchasing my second. 1st one finally broke in the middle after about 18 months of regular outdoor use. Rope will tangle if weights are removed and handles not reassembled properly. I tried the Everlast weighted leather, but it is too short at 9 ft (I am 6 ft).
This rope is ideal for men 5'10" and up. 10 ft with 2 pounds will smoke you after a short workout. Great after a run. Try doubles (pass the rope twice between skips). I don't recommend this rope for beginners. As you can see from other reviews, it's just too heavy. You have to skip with authority. Rope will untangle once you get it going. Best rope on Amazon. Don't hesitate.

great item but durability issuesMar 18, 2008
By Seth I. Banks The Valeo 2lb. jump rope is a great workout tool. It is easy to adjust the size and the rope does not tangle. However, you must take good care of the handles. I broke one of the handles only after a month of ownership. The plastic cover that holds the metal and spring inside is weak. As long as you are not careless, the product should hold up.

really good prod.Feb 12, 2008

I bought this rope and it's working great. I've tried all the ropes and the smoothness and quickness of the ball bearing action is the best of all. A cotton type rope w/ or w/o wts. is ridiculous. That's for kids. So the other reviewer doesn't know what he's talkin about. If going fast, it doesn't tangle. For the best non-tangle w/ removeable 1lb.(that is 3 1/3lb. wts. ea. handle) try www.ropesport.com for their beaded jump rope. I go to their classes and this is what they use. The swinging arc is really good and even going slow it won't tangle. And L is adjustable either shorter or longer. Also c/o bk. "Ropesport," the bible of ropejumping. But, this prod. is effective.

Rope TanglesJun 23, 2006

This rope made of rubber curls as you are jumping, the more jumps the more kinks in the rope which eventually trip you.
The weighted handles are a nice feature, but the rope tangles impeding jumping, a total waste of money. Look for weighted handles on a plain cotton cord rope.

Brittle plastic handles break too easilyNov 10, 2011
By Akubrei I decided to take a chance on this jump rope before there were many reviews on it. In hindsight, I wish I had waited. The rope functioned fine for two workouts, but before I was able to use it for a third, I accidentally dropped it from about thigh high onto linoleum flooring. The end of one of the handles shattered on impact. While it still functioned as a standard jump rope, it could no longer hold the weighted one pound insert. This was very disappointing, especially since the weighted inserts were the main reason for my purchase. I ended up giving it away to someone else and purchasing a different rope.
